The Beast

In the blink of her blue eyes, the

rainfall that took solace on the green leaves exploded as a giant mass burst out of the bush with a

loud howl. For what seemed like hours, the beast stood there about fifty yards from her. The grey

mane around its massive neck glistened amid the full moon. It crouched momentarily on its

muscular hind legs, its toes spread on the surface of the tarmac as if to anchor its vast shape on

  • the ground. It arched its hairy back and outstretched its arms displaying all its horrific wonder.

The beast's claws were long and twiggy but unlike the trees. They were full of massive veins and

terrible ligaments and muscle, which forced them twitching back and forth, revealing the

sharpest implements of doom she had ever seen. It was terror personified, and that little girl was

helpless, frozen and dumb. Suddenly, its large footsteps smashed the floor with the weight of

what sounded like a hundred men. She was in slow motion, and as she picked up her hands in an

attempt to rub her eyes to see when it would strike, that massive dark shape which was running

at her. The last thing she remembered was seeing the blur of his claws forcefully rip through her chest.
